Limitless Possibilities

March 25, 2008

The limits are gone…

I began talking with a few friends about things that we would like to do or accomplish in our lives.  We wrote these things down on a list, and I found myself struggling to make a list longer that 5 things.   I think I just felt that writing something down and not getting it done would just be a little too disappointing.  As the night went on we sat at one of our favorite bar and grills and talked about our future ventures and goals.  I began to realize that it is better to put something on the list than to be afraid to make the list and not get it done.

I feel like that is something everybody knows, but I did not realize I need to relearn that.

My list grew…

This began the day of limitless possibilities.

The next day we set off to have a day and do a whole bunch of things that we would not normally do.  We tried new Mexican food, we ran out of gas, we threw boomerangs, we miniature golfed, and so much more.

What a day!

A day with no limits to what can be done.

Limitless possibilities day.

It is also fun just to hang out with some friends on a nice day.

The fun things were fun and we had fun… fun…

Voting and Freeze Tag

March 5, 2008

I voted yesterday…

I caucused last night…

As I was at the caucus I was shocked at the amount of people that were there.  There were over 500 people packed into the gym I was at.  There were a large number of little children that were there that came with their parents.  As I was waiting in line I watched as these little kids who did not know each other just become best friends, and it didn’t matter who they were as long as there was someone else to play freeze tag with and run into walls with.

When does the idea that not everybody is our friend get into our head?  Why does that happen?  I have a friend who meets new people often in his line of work and everybody he meets seems to be his new best friend.  He learns their name and even introduces them to other people as his friend.  I believe he really considers them friends too.  How did the idea that not everybody is our friend miss him?  Where in between elementary and now do we decide that not everybody we meet is our friend?  Does that idea fall out of our head when we stop playing freeze tag?

I want to play some freeze tag.
