The second day of the summit was great just like the first day.  I feel like I got more out of this years summit than all of the summits in the past (although this was only my third).  My favorite part of day 2 was the session with Chip and Dan Heath co-authors of “Made to Stick” and “Switch” (I have not read these books yet, but they are on my list).  They talked a lot about change and how to go about it.  Change is something that I work with a whole lot at my job.  Part of my job is constantly keeping with the changes that are made in technology and then working with those changes.  Chip and Dan has some great tips on change (big problems… small solutions).

Also check this out.  Andrew Rugasira was one of the speakers at the summit this year.  Rugasira is the founder and CEO of Good African Coffee.

Today was the first day of the Willow Creek Association leadership summit.  It was a pretty good day.   I am watching the summit via satellite site in Fort Worth.  The faculty this year has been awesome.  Favorite speaker of the day was Gary Hamel (who rocks a mustache).  Hamel talked on managing differently NOW.  He talked about change and innovation.  Got some new ideas that I will talk about in the future.

Also got to hear about Jessica Jackley and the KIVA story.

Pre Mission Trip – driving there.

Left right around noon.
Had a whole lot to pack – sound equipment.
This Fried Pie Company in Gainesville is delicious, but they are never open late enough…  They are never open when we drive by it.  We actually made it there before they closed, but when we got there it was 3pm and the kitchen was closed even though they would still be open for another hour and a half.  We went to Taco Casa instead.
Bad traffic near OKC.
Low clouds right near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border… that was neat.  It looked like a bunch of smoke from a fire.  It was low clouds.
Mazzios pizza for dinner.
We are now in Siloam Springs.

Mission Trip

I am about to go leave to go on mission trip.
Going to Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
