Voting and Freeze Tag

By patrickturkett

I voted yesterday…

I caucused last night…

As I was at the caucus I was shocked at the amount of people that were there.  There were over 500 people packed into the gym I was at.  There were a large number of little children that were there that came with their parents.  As I was waiting in line I watched as these little kids who did not know each other just become best friends, and it didn’t matter who they were as long as there was someone else to play freeze tag with and run into walls with.

When does the idea that not everybody is our friend get into our head?  Why does that happen?  I have a friend who meets new people often in his line of work and everybody he meets seems to be his new best friend.  He learns their name and even introduces them to other people as his friend.  I believe he really considers them friends too.  How did the idea that not everybody is our friend miss him?  Where in between elementary and now do we decide that not everybody we meet is our friend?  Does that idea fall out of our head when we stop playing freeze tag?

I want to play some freeze tag.
